L’enregistrement et le traitement des données bioarchéologiques dans Syslat

Abstract : Created in the 1980s by Michel Py (CNRS) and the Lattes excavation team, the Syslat software was designed as a computer tool for managing and exploiting excavation data. This software is in the process of evolving into an Archaeological Information System (SIA), designed to be adaptable to all types of sites, remains and periods. The evolution of Syslat into an AIS will make it possible to integrate the latest advances in terms of procedures for recording and using excavation data, while continuing the effort to standardise and create repositories linked to the various dictionaries and libraries attached to the software. We present here the various tools for recording and processing of furniture (ecofacts) and data of bioarchaeological origin, in particular the files on samples, macrofauna and avifauna, as well as carpology that are currently available. Other files (ichthyofauna, anthracology…) are currently being developed and will complement Syslat in the new design of the software.
