L’habitat chasséen de Champ Madame et Artière-Ronzière à Beaumont (Puy-de-Dôme). Structuration, architecture et fonction du bâtiment 3: The Chassean habitat of Champ Madame and Artière-Ronzière at Beaumont (Puy-de-Dôme). Structuring, architecture and function of building 3

Abstract : At Beaumont, in the Auvergne region, in the heart of the middle Neolithic settlement of “Champ Madame et Artière-Ronzière”, the building 3 is, as much as from an architectural as of a cultural viewpoint, the most significant structure of the site. The internal structure of this building (8m x 12m), raised on deep foundation trenches, reminds one of the Italian structures at San Andrea di Travo in Emilie Romagne. This Italian site belongs to the Chassey-Lagozza culture. While these two sites are distant geographically, the pottery and especially the knapped flint objects are quite comparable.
