Archéologie préventive sur le bâti et Monuments historiques : Une collaboration qui devrait être exemplaire

Abstract : Despite the results obtained over the past 20 years with the application of the stratigraphic analysis approach to built remains, commonly known as "built", this archaeological discipline is still the subject of regular questioning, from its legitimacy in a "French Historic Monument" context to that of its prescriber. Against this backdrop, the interactions between the various heritage services of the DRAC have a decisive role to play. It is in this context and while the Nouvelles de l’archéologie is responsible for the founding dossier of 1993, it seemed important to return to the sources of the debate and demonstrate the ineptitude of the latest positions that only further weaken this discipline and open a dangerous breach in the basis of preventive archaeology.
