L’outillage du site de la Côte à Contrexéville (Vosges) : étude de l’équipement mobilier agropastoral et artisanal d’un établissement rural (IIe-IIIe s. apr. J.-C.)

Abstract : The archaeological excavation of the site "la Côte" in Contrexéville, led in 1988 by Le Cercle d’études locales de Contrexéville, revealed some of the vestiges of a rural settlement and in particular a cellar burnt down between the end of the 2nd c. and the first third of the 3rd c. AD. The fire sealed a set of pottery, as well as stone and iron tools, including a complete harrow. The identified tools certainly constitute a considerable component of the iron equipment of this rural settlement and allow us to discuss the representativeness of this archaeological discovery.
